Action Packed

What a week I've had so far, work has been totally action packed, I had to work last Saturday and Sunday in the office over the Moon Festival. So it feels like it's a Friday today, but it's is Laurence last night out with me in Taipei before he heads back to the UK so it feel like a Friday anyway as were out on the razz tonight.

Tomorrow I am heading down to Taichung for the Love Money Design Talk, I am really looking forward to Dick Powell speach on Innovation in Design can't wait for that. Then over the Sunday I'm going paint balling in Nehiu which should be awesome fun.

Friday I was thinking of doing a bit of home decoration and repainting some walls white again as they have started to go faintly gray.

It's been raining for most of the the weekend and still going strong today, so trying to dry any clothes in a damp climate is near impossible. I have also started to see why my apartment might not be so good to live in during the winter months as various damp patches are starting to appear through the paintwork.

I also nearly electrocuted myself this evening, when I was hanging up some washing, how I didn't put few hundred volts through my body was probably due to my rubber flip flops which earthed me.

It all happened as I was holding a steel bar which I had wedge into the side of the air conditioning support framing to act as a cross beam for holding the bamboo laundry poll. But as the steel bar touched the aluminum window frame the was a massive spark at the window edge and huge bag from the AC unit.
















I'm not sure how I didn't get an electric shock from Taiwanese dodgy wiring.

Painting Result

I have finished painting all the walls in my room finally! 

My room is finally all white and the end of horrible yellow marks!

I did want to have it finished last Sunday, but the was so much to do. I think I could of finished on Wednesday but my back had started to hurt again so I had an early night.

I now just have to finish painting the two cabinets, clean the floor and sort the bathroom out.

This was the room before I started filled with odd bit of furniture, which I have now removed! Notice the Pro cordless drill by B&Q and designed by an agency called Hyphen Design in London. It's one of the best things I have bought since been in Taiwan, the our only too features which I don't like but apart from that it's a fantastic peace of kit.

My New Apartment

I am now renting a little room for a good price from two lovely people. I am now living with a guy called Ocean and a girl called Peggy they are both Taiwanese. Ocean works for HTC so it's nice to have a another designer to live with again.

I have lot's of sorting out to do and I have started to repaint my room in a cream white, I hope I can have it all finished by Saturday as that's when I plan to move all my stuff in.

Apartment Taipei

I have been searching for a new apartment and I have had some fantastic help from Rita. I think I 'm going to go and live with a designer called Ocean. I still need to check to see if his room is available. But it's a very good price for me and plus Ocean loves to go cycling.

I also felt living on my own is now not a good idea I would become too lonely and I can't really afford to do it at the moment. My bank account spread sheet is completing diabolical. So I really have to start to save money and get reducing that rather large debt I occurred while trying to get a job here.
