Step by Step

I didn't learn any new words or sentences in my Chinese lesson yesterday I just focused on what I had learnt so far, as I am starting to struggle with the basics and I though it made more sense to recap on what I've covered in the lessons.

I so feel I had a good lesson even though I did drift of a bit toward the end, but lucky my fantastic teacher Yin-Pei Chen somehow manages to keep me on track!

Although I don't think she can grasp the fact that when she tells me a sentence structure I am unable to remember it straight away. But then I am learning one of the hardest languages in the world to speak.

Asking Directions

Today in my Chinese lesson I covered Asking Directions, I found this lesson really hard, I think it must be the mental effort of having to remember all the words and how to also say them correctly and in the correct context.

It must be a dyslexia thing because I generally feel so tired, after absolve all this information in, it's an odd feeling because in the working environment I have no problem in organisation and remembering schedule etc and taking in detailed manufacturing needs and client requirement is come very fluidly and naturally to me.

But learning Chinese I can really feel my mind struggling to work it all out and I get very tired and after about hour and half I'm feeling zonked out!

Dyslexic Chinese

I found my Chinese lesson a bit harder today, I think it's combination of tighter project deadlines and not sleep well, must remember to get too bed earlier on Monday evenings!

I also set up a blog called Dyslexic Chinese, where I post the home work and the words that I have learn from my Teacher.

Back Into Chinese

I have started to learn Chinese again, as I am finding it frustrating to not know what is been said in the meetings. I now have a privet tutor too visit me at the office after work on Tuesdays, which is much better for me I think.

Her name is Yin-Pei and she was recommended to me by my old MTC teacher Yatang. I have to say so far she has made lessons really easy for me and I am starting to construct sentences which is great, but I am still finding it hard to remember all the words and the correct tone!

I was reading Jonny blog and he was talking about his Chinese lessons and the fact that he was doing 6 hours per week plus extra study. So I think I will be hard pushed to make speedy progress but as long as I can learn the basics I should be fine.

I would love to put extra cash into the lessons but I just don't have the resources to afford it at the moment. I am paying 400 NT per hour and then I pay 200 NT for her to come to the office. It might seem like a lot but I worked out by the time I have taken the bus into town got to a coffee shop and order a drink it would cost me more.

Asics & 老師

I have been meaning to get fit again and start doing exercise I also think it's a great way to get rid of stress. I did want to get into mountain biking, but I guess for now buying a pair of trainers is sightly more in my budget at the moment.

George recommend that I get Asics as there about 30% cheaper here than in Europe. I had also researched running shoes when I was state side and the shops assistant told me that Asics were one of the best brand to buy into and thanks to AmTran I had a few SOGO vouchers burning a whole in my pocket to buy them with.

After visiting the shop and been told I was underpronate, from the 3D scan they did of my feet, which was pretty cool. They said I should go for the Gel-Kinsei 2, I did try other trainers but the Kinsei were the most comfortable one's, so I got them.

I have to say they are the most uglyious trainers I have every bought, my metallic gold strips are actually blue I think that's because it's the Asian model.

I also meet my new Chinese teacher we worked out my lesson plan and what I wanted to learn, I have two hours per week every Tuesday.
